Masonic Lodge, "Craft or Blue" lodges as they are referred to, is the first step in Free Masonry for adult men age 21. Once you have been accepted for membership, you will then be prepared and processed by receiving your first three degrees in Free Masonry. Although there are many men who do not travel beyond the Masonic or "Craft or Blue" lodge, there are however two further routes that can be traveled by those who wish more education and information within the Masonic fraternity. These are referred to as Rites and there are two of them. One is called the York Rite and the other is the Scottish Rite. Both educational and informative, both include their own Degrees and it was traditionally required to have one or the other before gaining admission to the world famous Shrine. The organization that dedicates all their efforts towards Sick and Crippled Children of the World. More on the Shrine later on. |
